Mitt Romney's giving a speech this Thursday about being Mormon. I love how the regular media outlets read, "Romney to Give Mormon Speech" or "Romney seeks to allay suspicion over his Mormon beliefs" and the Salt Lake Tribune reads... "Romney to speak on how Mormon faith might guide presidency".
Mormonism is a religion in terms of money, but it's a cult in terms of age and practice and fucking craziness. They follow a leader who isn't shrounded in over a millenia of history, but whose credit report is available for scrutiny in the New York state records. Moreover, it seems to have made racism into a science. It is a crazy bigoted religion and he has chosen to belong to it and to raise his five strapping sons in it.
I haven't read the speech, but I can guess that it's not a speech about being a Mormon at all. It's about being a whole big bunch of batshit crazy.
